Leaving on Good Terms pt 2
So I was considering what more to put into part two of leaving on good terms, and I realized, I would end up with a fifty part series, as the safety and security involved in the termination of an employee can go on forever. So, I will simply wrap it up like this… If you are terminating a person for cause, keep it a secret, and call them to HR at the very last moment, and when they are heading down there, cut off their access to both the network as well as their badge (if you use a badge system). If the person has turned in a notice, take charge, make sure retaliation isn’t occurring against them, allow them to say their goodbyes, and above all else, show all terminations with respect, as this will go a long way in keeping everyone less stressed.
